During the 2 day workshop participants will have the opportunity to complete an A3 lithograph. 

 
​Workshop Schedule

Day 1

• Introduction to Aluminium Plate Lithography
• Use a conté pencil mark out design and use gum to protect the edges of the plate
• Use lithography pencils, biros, tusche to draw the image onto the plate
• Apply talc and gum to the image.
• Apply the 1st etch at the end of day 1

Day 2

• Wash out, rolling up and apply a 2nd etch to the plate.
• Allow time for the etch to process
• Wash out, roll up and print

About the tutor

Nicola Hooper is an Australian artist based in Logan Queensland who utilises various forms of lithography and drawing to narrate her works. She has previously completed a MAVA and MAVA (hons), and is currently a Doctoral candidate at Queensland College of Art. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally and is held in public and private collections.

Safety

​Participants are advised to wear closed in shoes, suitable clothing or apron that you do not mind getting ink on. Tie long hair back, wear goggles, masks where appropriate. Follow all instructions given by your tutor during your workshop.
