Its primary aim is to facilitate the professional development of fine art printmakers.
Impress aims to promote and raise the awareness of printmaking as a fine art form by providing greater community access to arts and culture. Impress provides a stimulating environment that embraces both traditional and contemporary printmaking processes, as well as creating developmental, career and research opportunities for artists and the wider community.
At Impress, artists of all levels and the public are welcome to come together and collaborate, share knowledge, skills and stories. We provide a stimulating environment that embraces both traditional and contemporary printmaking processes as well as reflecting the changing needs of the arts community.
Impress provides developmental opportunities for art workers by supporting a program of skill development and training for members and artists in the wider community. We also provide opportunities for local artists, through our exhibition program, with member’s exhibitions, national and international exchanges and connection to other printmaking studios, institutions and arts organisations.
Impress also wishes to foster and encourage those with disabilities and from culturally diverse groups to become actively involved in the centre’s operation and use of facilities. Full PWD access is available to the gallery and the studio areas.
