Ideally suited to beginners and will teach artists the basic book-making techniques of folding, cutting and gluing while they recycle their old drawings, prints and proofs on paper into beautiful artist’s books. During the workshop, participants will be shown inspirational examples of artist’s books. Glenda will provide templates and instructions for several artist’s books as well as giving tips and limits for deciding what form of book best suits the artist’s imagery and paper.
The fundamentals of paper grain, measuring, folding, creasing and pasting paper and board will be taught. Activities will include the preparation of pages for concertina or snake form artist's books, the preparation of simple book cover forms, and attaching covers to the pages of artist’s books. Participants will create one or more books depending on the time available.

Glenda is a multi-award winning printmaker who also enjoys creating fabricated sculpture and artist’s books. In 2007, Griffith University awarded her the University Medal and First Class Honours degree in Fine Arts. Subsequently, she has exhibited widely, nationally and internationally, is represented in many collections, including the National Gallery of Australia, curated over a dozen exhibitions and has represented Queensland on the Print Council of Australia. She has been a tutor at Griffith University and ran workshops in printmaking and artist’s books for regional galleries and Impress Printmakers.
