WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
This workshop extend your print practice into an integrated arts process. We will investigate various ways that printmedia can be extended into other forms – both object , book , drawing and intermedia. We will cover aluminium etching skills for the intermediate to advanced artist as a process from which to start the broader skill set for the weekend. Outcomes from this workshop are expected to be a range of experimental works that explore new and diverse ways to approach making work in a print studio as well as a refreshed personal dialogue with ongoing ideas and concepts.

ABOUT CAROLYN
Carolyn Mckenzie-Craig is a practicing artist and current PHD student at the Queensland College of Art, Griffith University. She also teaches part time at the National Art School in Sydney and at Griffth University.
Her work is held in numerous collections, both in Australia and overseas and she has been a finalist in significant print and drawing prizes. In 2014 she was a guest speaker at the JOGJA print festival in Indonesia, held solo shows at Gallery Smith, Melbourne and The Hold, Brisbane and won the Marie Ellis Prize for Drawing. Her academic writing and arts practice focus on gendered systems of power and broader social concerns with a focus on extending print media practice into expanded arenas of contemporary art.

Participants are advised to wear closed in shoes, suitable clothing or apron that you do not mind getting ink on. Tie long hair back, wear goggles, masks where appropriate. Follow instructions given by your tutor during your workshop.
