MULTIPLATE, MULTICOLUR ETCHING
with Glenda Orr and Gwenn Tasker

Impress members $170, non-members $200 including materials

Students will need to be familiar with basic etching techniques, particularly hard ground and aquatint. Completion of the Impress workshop Etching for Beginners or equivalent, would be advantageous. The workshop will cover multiplate etching where each plate carries a different colour. Registration of multiple plates will be taught. Consideration will be given to the building of colour using transparent inks and layering. Other techniques taught will include relief rolling of an inked plate, chine collé and incorporating watercolour washes into the inking process.

Glenda Orr and Gwenn Tasker have recently graduated from QCA with Bachelor of Fine Art degrees. Glenda completed her Honours year in 2007 and Gwenn will finish in 2008. They both specialise in etching and have won various art prizes for their prints. They have participated in numerous group shows in Brisbane and regional Queensland, and have shown in exhibitions in Hong Kong, Paris, Shanghai and Toronto.
