DRYPOINT ETCHING |
Sunday 19th October 10am-4pm Drypoint is a fast, low technology form of intaglio that serves as either an introduction to other intaglio methods or can be used when sophisticated facilities are not available. This workshop will start by giving an overview of the intaglio method. There will be practical demonstrations of the use and possibilities of Drypoint as a printing method. Participants will be encouraged to make plates using both hand and handheld machine tools to cut and distress the plate and to explore the variety of marks that can then be printed from them. Plastic, paper and metal plate surfaces will be explored. Suzanne Danaher completed her Master of Visual Arts at the Queensland College of Art in 2004. Her work is held in numerous major Australian and international collections including the National Gallery of Australia. In 2001 she was selected as a commissioned print artist by the Print Council of Australia. In 1995 she represented Australia in the 7th International Bienniel Print & Drawing exhibition in Taipei. In 2006 she was appointed visiting lecturer at the Queensland College of Art. Suzanne has exhibited widely over the past twenty years, most recently at a survey of her work from 1997 to 2007 at the Redland Regional Gallery, Queensland. |
