SINGLE PLATE MULTICOLOUR ETCHING
with Carolyn MacKenzie-Craig

Sunday 21st September 10am-4pm

Impress members $85, non-members $100 including materials

This workshop covers both à la poupée and viscosity plate inking techniques to print multi-colour etchings and collographs from a single plate. The à la poupée technique can be used to produce exquisite full colour images without the problems of registration and the cost of multiple plates. The viscosity technique can introduce uniquely rich colour layers layers to both etchings and collographs. Experimental approaches to viscosity will also be explored utilizing stencils, shadow prints and both rejective and additive viscosity methods. Participants will need to bring existing plates which they would like to explore further with colour.

It is recommended that participants bring to the workshop existing plates to work with, collographs or etchings of any size.

Carolyn MacKenzie-Craig completed her Bachelor of Fine Art at Griffith University in 2007. She has participated in Group Exhibitions in Brisbane, Sydney and Hong Kong. Also in 2007, Carolyn won the Sunsuper Fine Art Award for outstanding achievement in Printmedia and the Fusions Award.
