HARD GROUND ETCHING
with Robyn Elphinstone

Sunday 10th February 10am-4pm

Impress members $85, non-members $100 including materials

The workshop is designed as an introduction to etching using Ferric Chloride and for those who have undertaken minimal printmaking instruction. The main focus will be plate preparation and printing a prepared plate. The workshop will also look at registration for editioning, setting the press correctly before printing and using hard ground. Soft ground usage will also be demonstrated and practised by participants if time permits.

Robyn Elphinstone completed her Bachelor of Fine Art at Griffith University in 2005. She has participated in many exhibitions, regionally and internationally. In 2005 Robyn won the Karl and Gertrude Langer Memorial Prize for Printmaking and the Theiss Employees Choice Award in 2006. Her works are in numerous private and public collections including Australian National Gallery, Canberra, Queensland State Library James Hardie Collection, Mackay Artspace, and James Cook and Griffith Universities.
